Class Requirements, Regulations and Expectations

10 Honors English is a college-preparatory class with an emphasis on the critical analysis of literature and the development of written communication skills.  Although guided by the Virginia SOL, the curriculum is designed to prepare students for academic success at an advanced level beyond minimum standards.  Students who complete the 10 Honors curriculum successfully will be prepared for 11 Honors and Advanced Placement English in the 11h and 12th grades. Students will be expected to analyze and respond to literature in a sophisticated, elevated fashion.

Every student in Honors English must be committed to his or her own academic success and is ultimately responsible for his or her achievement.
